When your education is informed by the streets where the case studies take place it requires you to denounce certain affiliations with the west's determination of who is allowed to narrate. I’m the product of two generations of women, Melbourne's inner-city public housing flats and the stubborn decision to run away at sixteen. As unconventional as it gets, I spent the last year of university writing policy submissions for NGOs; discussing the effects of gentrification, racism, police brutality and poverty on minority communities. I have since decided to ditch a boring political formula and speak directly with the community I am from.

The Saturday Bakery may seem a rather random addition to my social science background. But just like my Criminology degree, these recipes have been in the works for a few years now. The Saturday Bakery is just another way for me to share a passion of mine and use the proceeds to support our community.
